What comes next

Pest alerts first, then weekly advice and the yield comparison, then the other checks. No dates are promised yet.

1 · Being built

Pest and disease alerts

Turn the weather rules from official sources into a weekly check for each plot. Compare the checks with what people see in the field. Only then show warnings. Also add an estimate of how long leaves stay wet, and flag fields that are less green than usual.

2 · Next

Weekly advice

A short weekly note for each plot: the crop's stage, rain against drying, a pest check, and links to the newest farm advice for Koraput from the rice research institute and the weather office.

3 · Next

Yield comparison

Compare each season's greenest point and total greenness, plot by plot. It is a comparison, not tonnes. It becomes useful once the full 2026 season is recorded.

A · Next

Harvest heads-up

Watch for greenness starting to fall from its peak each week, using 2025's dates as a guide.

B · Next

Weak patches inside a plot

No repeat weak patch shows up inside the exact outlines yet. Keep checking each season. The pond fields need sharper photos or drone photos to say more.

C · Soon

Radar that sees through clouds

Flooding, waterlogging and planting dates even in cloudy monsoon weeks, fed into the pest warnings.

D · Soon

Winter crop water

From the pond's area, the drying by sun and wind, and the dry-season rain, work out how many hectares of green gram, black gram or mustard each metre of usable pond depth could water. The depth must be measured.

E · Later

Compare with neighbouring fields

Compare each plot with nearby Nilabadi fields, as the yardstick for yield. Comes with the village-wide view.

Later

Sensors, traps and cameras

A weather station, leaf-wetness and soil-wetness sensors, a pond water-level gauge, and insect traps with cameras that count the catch. They would use the village's electricity and 4G mobile network.

Later

Village-wide view

Extend the crop map and the crop's year from two plots to all of Nilabadi.

Idea

Wider view as a paid service

Looking at other fields or villages could become a paid service for others. Just an idea: nothing is offered yet, and there are no prices or sign-up.

Ongoing

Check the outlines on the ground

Walk the bunds with a phone's GPS (location) to check: is pond field A one field or several? Where is field B's west edge? Is the temple block one person's land?
