One-time snapshot · 31 Oct 2026 · not updated. This was FarmBot's first look at the fields, made before the exact field edges were marked. It used a rough box around the village and square boxes around each plot. We keep it for reference and will not update it. New to satellite words? Read What the satellite sees. Agnigangamma Temple plot

Paddy. Sentinel-2 (European satellites that photograph the fields about every 5 days) imagery, greenness score (NDVI) maps, a crop calendar from greenness and computer-estimated soil.

Where

Approximate location

A 400 × 400 m box centred about 18.962 N, 83.268 E. A 2021 European land-cover map (ESA WorldCover) labels it as 64% cropland, 21% trees, 14% grassland and 0.1% water. Only crop-land squares feed the crop numbers.

Location to be confirmed. The Agnigangamma Temple is at about 18.960 N, 83.267 E (public place listing, map plus code X768+5R7). The reference map screenshot was rotated, so "left of the temple" on screen is roughly north-north-east on the ground. The analysis box is centred about 200 m north-north-east of the temple. A second box due west of the temple was also analysed.
Sentinel-2 true colour of the Agnigangamma Temple plot
How to read this: this is how the area looks to the eye from space. Dark green is trees, lighter green is fields, white or grey is cloud or buildings.True colour, 23 Oct 2026, 10 m, north up. Box is approximate.
greenness map of the Agnigangamma Temple plot
How to read this: green = leafy, healthy crop; yellow = thinner plants; red = bare soil, water or no plants.Greenness map, 23 Oct 2026. Box median (middle value) 0.85.

Harvested or ripening?

Not harvested. On 23 Oct the crop-land middle value was 0.86, with 97% of crop-land squares above 0.6. That is peak greenness. In 2025 its smoothed greenness fell below 0.7 about 17 days, and below 0.5 about 9 days, before the pond plot. So it may be ready a little sooner this year too. The brown fields in older Google imagery are from the dry season.

Alternative true-west box: 2025 peak 0.79, latest 0.81 on 23 Oct, 79% cropland.

Chart of crop-land greenness over time for both plots
How to read this: higher line = greener crop. The fall in Nov–Dec 2025 is last year's harvest, the low flat part (Jan–Apr) is the dry season, and the rise from June is this year's crop.Greenness of the crop land only: dots are clear dates, the line is smoothed over 20 days, the shaded band shows where the middle half (25–75%) of the field fell. Green is the pond plot, orange the temple plot and grey the true-west alternative.

Soil estimate Estimate

A slightly acidic clay-loam (pH 6.2–6.3). These are computer estimates for 250 m squares, and the two plots are close enough that they're barely independent. Get a Soil Health Card or lab test before any fertiliser decision.

Read with care

  • Plot boxes are approximate. They are squares drawn around landmarks, not surveyed field boundaries.
  • Monsoon cloud gap. July–August had only one or two clear satellite photos, so transplanting dates can't be pinned down.
  • Temple plot location is still to be confirmed. The reference screenshot was rotated, so the box sits north-north-east of the temple; a true-west alternative was also checked.
  • Soil and weather figures are computer-estimated estimates, not measurements on these fields.
